1. Kamikaze Membership

Everyone interested in playing inline hockey is welcome to come and play with the Kamikaze Inline Hockey Club!

  • Non-members may participate in the training sessions for a modest fee per training session before deciding if they would like to join the club.
  • Non-members (beginners only) may participate in the training sessions free of charge, for the first month, before deciding if they would like to join the club.
  • Once a player decides to join the Kamikazes, the parents or player (if he/she is 18 years and older) must complete and sign the Kamikaze, DTS and NIIHA registration forms.
  • Application forms for Kamikaze and NIIHA are available from the coach as well as from Downloads here.

  • All Kamikaze players, and the coach, are required to be members of the DTS Club.
  • Any person serving on the Kamikaze committee, irrespective of being a player or not, must be a paid up member of the DTS Club.

The completed forms must be handed to the Trainer/Coach or a Kamikaze committee member for processing.

2. Fees

Kamikaze fees are to be paid in advance for the whole season or on a monthly basis, for 12 (twelve) months of the year. Please note that VAT is charged on training fees.

Several methods of payment are possible:

  • Cash in an envelope handed to the Trainer/Coach or the Kamikaze Treasurer;
  • Monthly debit order;
  • Direct/electronic transfer (fax or email proof of payment to the Treasurer);
  • Annual payment in advance on or before 28 February.

All Kamikaze players must pay an annual DTS membership and sport code fee. Please note that VAT is charged on DTS membership fees.

If a player’s Kamikaze, NIIHA or annual DTS fees are in arrears, said player may be excluded from training sessions and/or tournaments at the committee’s sole discretion.

3. Equipment

Every player is responsible for his/her own equipment. Every player is also responsible for ensuring that all personal belongings are stored safely during practice hours and whilst on or off the court. Neither the club nor the committee shall assume any responsibility or be held liable for any losses due to theft or personal negligence.

Every player is required to wear a helmet on the court at all times. The Club shall not assume any responsibility or be held liable for the cost of medical treatment relating to any injuries incurred whilst participating in the sport or whilst visiting the club premises.

For the safety of each player participating in the sport the NIIHA rules require players to wear and have the following equipment during games:

  • Inline hockey skates
  • Shin pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Gloves
  • Stick
  • Helmet with full-face grid or visor (varies per age group)
  • Kamikaze tricot of the season with the player’s number plus name displayed

Players may sign out and use equipment from the club at no charge, if it is available. However, if such equipment is stolen or lost, the player who borrowed it must pay 33,3% of the value of the equipment.

4. Training

Players are expected to attend and be punctual for training.

Players should be fully dressed and ready to play at the starting time of the training session.

The parents or player should inform the Trainer/Coach in advance if a player will be absent from a training session.

5. Tournaments
  • Players are expected to attend and participate in NIIHA tournament games.
  • Players or parents will be emailed the Kamikaze team rosters and a tournament game schedule a few days in advance of the tournament.
  • Players should arrive at the court no later than 30 minutes before a game commences.Players are responsible for ensuring their equipment meets NIIHA equipment regulations.
  • The parents or player should inform the Trainer/Coach at least four weeks in advance if the player will miss a tournament for a valid reason.
6. Player and Parent Support / Conduct

All players and parents are required to assist with and help at Kamikaze tournaments and functions, especially w.r.t. the Kitchen Committee. The strength of our club depends upon each player’s and parents’ active involvement and support. Please feel free to contact the Kamikaze Committee at any time if you are interested in becoming more involved in supporting the club.

7. NIIHA

The Kamikaze Inline Hockey Club is an affiliated member of the Namibia Ice and Inline Hockey Association (NIIHA), and is bound by the Constitution of the Namibia Ice and Inline Hockey Association and by the Namibia Sports Act, 2003. All players and supporters are to familiarise themselves with and abide by the rules of NIIHA. All players and parents are reminded that they are bound by the NIIHA Code of Conduct.
